Two guys who love golf, people, and know how to put together
a day you and your group will remember.
At Noonan Golf Outings, Jim "Coach K" Knasel and
Rob "Miss It" Noonan bring together two sides of a great golf event: the golf experience and the guest experience.
Jim brings the course knowledge, outing format, contest ideas, and event organization that help make the golf fun and well-run. Rob brings the hospitality, communication, and attention to detail that make the day feel smooth, welcoming, and memorable.
Together, they help you plan more than a round of golf. They help you create an outing your group will enjoy from the first conversation to the final putt.
Jim "Coach K" Knasel's love for golf started early. One of his earliest memories is receiving a used 7-iron from a garage sale when he was about eight years old. With that club, a few golf balls, and friends who loved being outside, Jim spent countless hours playing the game he was just beginning to learn.
By the time he was 10, Jim was caddying for his dad — his payment wasn't money, it was the chance to tee it up on the par-3 holes. Growing up in a close-knit blue-collar family, Jim quickly learned that golf could be a real reward.
"What began as a love of golf and competition has become something even more meaningful: a way to bring people together, build friendships, and strengthen a community."
He advanced from caddie to Caddie Master, played three years of varsity golf in high school, and eventually organized his neighborhood golf outing — growing it from three foursomes with no prizes into a highly anticipated event with 20 foursomes, on-course contests, and a full awards program.
Today, Jim serves as the Varsity Girls Golf Coach at Saint Francis High School, sharing his passion for the game while teaching young golfers the fundamentals, course management, sportsmanship, and the mental side of competition.
His professional background in marketing, sales, customer service, and project management brings everything full circle. At Noonan Golf Outings, Jim brings the golf knowledge, event experience, and organizational discipline that help turn a casual idea into a well-run outing.
Golf has been part of Rob "Miss It" Noonan's life for as long as he can remember. One of his favorite childhood memories is receiving his first set of clubs — a Northwestern Chi Chi Rodriguez kids set — for Christmas. By the spring of 1977, he couldn't wait to get outside and learn the game his father and grandfather loved and talked about so often.
Golf was never just about hitting a ball and keeping score. He learned from them that golf was about sportsmanship, integrity, friendship, and spending time with people you enjoy.
"A good round of golf was really a good shared experience."
He caddied at the local country club, worked as a greenskeeper, shagged balls in that tractor everyone tries to hit on a driving range, and found every excuse he could to be around the game. And then there's that golf movie with the namesake main character, and it has followed him around ever since.
His career took him into travel marketing and sales, where he worked with teams behind some of Chicago and Milwaukee's most respected hotels, restaurants, attractions, and visitor destinations. He saw firsthand that great experiences come down to more than the main event. The welcome, timing, communication, flow of the day, and small details all matter. That is what Rob brings to the tee: a lifelong love of golf and an appreciation for the details that make an outing feel special.
